DESCRIPTION

Located in the plateau of Qanat Bakish, at the base of Mount Sannine, “The Home That Rocked” embraces the landscape by integrating the house to its land. The rocks, a key landscape component in the region, constitute an important footprint to the plot. The shape of these rocks is a design guideline to the entire project. As the rock is to be maintained and integrated to the house, its direction sets the axis of the Western wing of the house. In the section plane, the roof’s inclination is drawn as a parallel to the land’s topography, which enhances the house’s assimilation to the context. The house is developed around a garden that features the beauty of the rocks, whilst capturing stunning views of the valley.
